Publishing your book

Can you imagine publishing your own novel for twenty dollars? Thanks to technology this is now possible. Many people have dreamed of publishing their own novels but never had the resources to do so. Now with the startup company Blurb your dreams can become a reality. You can now create a book with pictures and even sell it. All you have to do is pick out the formatting you would like and decide which pictures and how much text you want on each page. This is quite a laborious activity but once you are done it is quite exhiliarating. Once you have finished decided what you would like on each page you click the submit button and in a few weeks you will receive your book in the mail. You also have the option to sell your book online and you pick the price you would like to charge. This amazing service will completely change the whole publishing industry.

Now those authors who could only dream of having their books published can actually do so. This will completely change the competitive forces for the publishing industry. It will be very interesting to see what lies ahead.

I remember getting a book when I was a child that incorporated my name into it as the main character. It too probably cost $20 in the late 70's, and that was just using basic word processing to add a child’s name in the blanks. Now people can sit at home and design an entire book and publish it for such little amounts of money and give it away as gifts for just a few - without having a minimum order of 1,000 books to publish.

For better yet, you can sell your books for those who are interested in it and you can also purchase books that you like to read about. Talk about varieties and availability. I think it is a good trend because we don't just want to read works from the rich and famous or someone whom is being recognised as "smart", we also want to know about the story from all walk of life.

This is really great. It will for sure help writers who write but are not able to publish their work. There are so many talented writers with real intelligent writing, but for some reason they were not able to publish. Now they all have a hope with this new way of publishing.
Good blog!
